What is this color library?

A color library page for one named color: the working hex, RGB, HSL, and CMYK, a tint and shade ramp, hue-based palettes, and WCAG contrast against white and near-black. Each color is its own URL so the page can answer that name directly. Values for CSS keywords such as gold and navy match the CSS Color specification. Names that are not keywords, such as sage green, state the exact swatch this page uses.

What you can copy

Each color page is a reference, not a second palette generator.

  1. Hex, RGB, HSL, and CMYK: The four codes are calculated from the page swatch. Copy hex from the top of the page, and RGB, HSL, or CMYK from the code cards.

  2. Shades and tints: Ten steps toward black and ten toward white, using the same mix as the tint and shade generator. Open that tool with this hex already loaded.

  3. Contrast grades: Each page reports the contrast ratio on white, on near-black, and with this color as the text. Continue in the contrast checker when you need another pair.
